Abstract

|
A object relations group counseling program designed to improve mother-child relationship was constructed, and its efficacy was tested in a sample of 16 mothers with depression whose children have behavior problems. The results indicate that there exists positive changes in psychological adaptation measured in terms of mother-child relationship. It highlights the group counseling program designed based on the Object Relation theory allows mothers to have better empathic understanding and insight on children’s behaviors and emotion, ultimately helping them to establish emotional stability.
